The minimum age to obtain the Minor’s Permit is 15 ½. You can start studying prior to 15 ½. At the age of 17 ½ you will no longer be required to present the Driver Education Certificate; however, the better educated you are about the road rules the better driver you will become. Our DMV approved online Driver Education course will fulfill the mandatory California DMV driver education requirements. The student can take this course anywhere and any time on his/her schedule. There are 10 units total with a quiz following each unit. When you have completed the 10 units, there will be a final exam which you need to pass with at least 80% accuracy. The Certificate of Completion will be mailed to you immediately. It will be accompanied by a letter explaining the steps you need to follow to get your Minor’s Permit.

When registering for Driver Education, please provide the correct student information as it appears on the social security card and birth certificate. It is important you also include your correct mailing address. Complete your course within five months.
